Random Cultural Stuff In Israel
So if you didn't already know, I'm in Israel for the week to visit my sister, who made Aliyah 2 1/2 years ago.
Last night we went to this concert. We had thought that it was a cabaret or showcase of some sort with skits and metal/electronica music. But it turned out to be this hilarious comedic band called "Cabaret Metali". Their band, consisting of an acoustic guitar, an electric guitar, a bass guitar, and drums, had a great sound to it, and their lyrics (when we understood them) were HYSTERICAL.
Most amusing song my sister and I actually understood was about a guy whose girlfriend annoyed him, so he prepared her "shakshouka" (an egg dish) the way she likes it, but with sleeping pills added. By the end of the song, he decides that even though this particular month she didn't do anything annoying, he would drug her anyway...but adds too much, so she dies. About half the songs ended in some kind of comical death.
