(no subject)
I was at the library with my mother today, because my little brother is at camp and wanted us to get a few books for him so they'd be here when he got back.
we found Dante pretty quickly, and ended up choosing Ciaran Carson's translation for Joe, because it looked recent and easy to read. (It actually is a good translation, if for some reason you feel like reading Dante's Inferno.)
As we were leaving the aisle, my mother stopped, looked at me and said "I wonder if they make an abridged version of Dante's Inferno for children...can you go check on the database real quick?"
So of course I replied (rather loudly, apparently), "Why the hell would they adbridge Dante's Inferno for CHILDREN?!"
An old man in the aisle next to us looked shocked.
I wonder why.
