So I haven't really been online too much lately and in my absence there seems to have been some serious shit going down over here in LJ land.

Summary, please?

What happened? Is teh pr0n gone? Is it time for me to make a greatestjournal?

Well as far as I can tell most of fandom is staying on LJ.

Having gone through this with Deviantart, while I'm pissed at LJ, they're comparitvely, not that bad. Deviantart went on massive banning sprees of anyone ho dared to question them or who the felt was acting too immature. And you gotta love a site named deviantart being stricter on teh child pron than LJ (I sent in a test case, photo of a naked get I got from a time magazine phoot collection, the admin said it was ban worthy, LJ is quite to that point yet).

I'm kinda surprised the linking is surprising everyone. I've never heard of a site where you could link to banned content, you know -_-

I can understand though some people leaving, but on my end, they've not insulting my artistic ethics enough yet and well . . . chan is not absolutely not my fandom interest so it's easier for me to not care.

If they keep being assholes with it and start banning HP porn in general *then* I shall re-think this.

Though I am torn because I was friendly with one of the banned artists .. . *sigh*

That is a very good point. I don't nececarily think they should allow linking to banned content, it just really hit home the point that I can't get all my fandom news on LJ anymore and I had gotten very used to LJ being my main fandom-place.

I guess everyone isn't leaving and I'm probably being a little paranoid, but I'm going to scope things out at the other journals and see how it goes.

I never spoke to Ponderosa personally, but I've always loved her art, and that makes me very sad. I'm not familiar with the other artist's work, I don't think...but still.

I guess the best thing to do is just wait a little while and see what happens.
