That really is shocking, the Times usually goes for the democrat.

Reading through some editorial stuff (mostly with pissed off people about the endorsement) - the Times also endorsed Regan in 1980 & 1984 as well as GWB. Sounds pretty god damn republican to me.

I always thought the Times was more liberal whereas the PI was the more conservative one...maybe I am wrong too.

Although I've heard that they often try to endorse who they think will actually win...

I just based this off the fact that The Times won't take specific advertising that the PI will. It's always like "oh the PI won't even take that." kinds of comments. Our VP will specifically show their publisher/editor ads that we declined just to see what his feelings are on them as well and whether they would have been ok with it.
