So here's that Super Secret Wedding Fic I've been working on and hinting at. Enjoy!
Everything was perfect. The flowers were perfect. The music was perfect. The cake was perfect. The decoration was perfect. The dresses were perfect. And of course, her shoes were perfect. It was a perfect day for a perfect dream.
Everyone was busy running around getting ready, laughter and giggling could be heard a block away- or so Luna said. Make-up, brushes, and hairspray covered the bathroom counters while the two nearest bedrooms were transformed into temporary changing rooms.
“Has anyone seen my shoes?”
“I think I’m wearing them. There’s no way mine were this tight.”
“I need more hairspray, my curls are coming out.”
“Help me tie this!”
“You look so pretty! Like a bride out of a magazine!”
And she did too. Her make-up was beautiful, her hair perfectly styled, her dress was frilly and poufy; everything was just like she always dreamed of. So why did she feel so horrible?
Minako glanced over at the full length mirror someone had brought in and frowned. Her mother was tearing up as she helped Makoto fix the veil into Minako’s hair. Minako should have been smiling as brightly as Usagi was, she should have been enjoying herself as much as Ami was or even as energetic and excited as Hotaru. But the fact remained that she wasn’t.
Minako tore her eyes away from the mirror when Usagi called her name. With a smile firmly in place she gave her princess her attention. But even as she giggled and helped Usagi with her zipper thoughts of a different wedding were running through her head.
Usagi and Mamoru had been truly happy at their wedding. Usagi’s smile had been brilliant and constant throughout the day. Minako doubted that she ever had to force herself to be happy that day. There was just a feeling of love surrounding both of them all day long. Usagi had described the day as a constant high, similar to when she was using the full power of the Silver Crystal, and that her thoughts were never far from Mamoru. Every feeling had been pure and true.
Minako didn’t feel any of that at all. True, she did love Takehiko very much and yes, she did want to marry him. But that in itself was the problem.
Every time she looked at herself in the mirror she would see double. On one side was Minako, a beautiful bride in a beautiful white dress and perfect shoes with a radiant smile on her face, and on the other was Sailor Venus, beautiful with her dangerous power surrounding her in waves but with a disappointed and hardened look on her face.
And then her mother was there and she was smiling. Minako couldn’t remember the last time she had seen her mother this happy, let alone being happy for Minako. She was pushing the large bouquet of flowers into her hands.
She was now outside and music was playing. Was that the Wedding March? It couldn’t be. She couldn’t do this. Why was she doing this anyway? To try and prove that she was stronger than Ace? That she could overcome anything? This was crazy!
And there he was standing there within that lovely arch of flowers and silks, looking so handsome in his uniform. Minako realized then that she had fallen for the military types in her past life too. And look how that ended.
She jerked to a stop, almost causing her poor father to fall over his own feet. Takehiko seemed to tense up, as if he could guess her next actions. Usagi was frowning and leaned over to whisper to Ami, who seemed ready to go into Doctor Mode. Rei glared at Takehiko, sure that whatever was causing Minako to stop in the middle of the aisle was his fault. Makoto whispered Minako’s name.
“I’m sorry.” She wasn’t sure if anyone heard her or not, but Minako didn’t wait for a response. She gathered her skirts up and ran in the opposite direction.
Tamiki would hate her for leaving his best friend at the altar. But really, everything would be better this way. She wouldn’t have to worry about a family to leave behind when she had to give up Minako and become Venus full time. She wouldn’t have to worry about someone using a husband against her and she defiantly would not have to worry about choosing between Takehiko and Usagi.
Her Princess could be her sole concern, as it should be. Just like Ace predicted.
END
Wait Wait! What's this you say? How could this be the end? Didn't I promise some plot and story to go along with this? And why the hell would I possibly call off a perfect wedding like this?
The answer is simple..
