I don't even entirely understand the purpose of fx4+ound, but I haven't come across a single person who has thought it was lame or considered it to be a guilty pleasure. I just sort of hate the idea of picking up something else to make me spend more time on the internet.
Apparently, though, this site is a similar alternative: vi.sualize.us.
hahaha, i couldn't agree with you more. i hate it but i love it at the same time. i'm constantly needing visual stimulation and inspiration for future photo projects and am so dependent on this site when i am in a rut. and i hate that fact. and i'm in a rut right now, sigh.
by the bye, i went to this exhibition recently and there was an instillation on plant silhouettes, and i totally thought of yours. except i think i like yours a wee bit better.
Aw, that is such a compliment! They may have more skill, but I try for a bit of humor. I was just saying today how nice it would be to make my alphabet mammal silhouettes into a zine or something. We'll see.
I cannot imagine being an art student, though - it'd be so frustrating, I imagine, being in a time crunch. Sometimes the worse thing for creativity is trying to force it. I had to do some of that for copywriting, but never anything requiring too much genius, if any at all.
i don't imagine it's particularly healthy for me, but all i think about these days are ideas for new projects and it's driving me crazy. but i secretly kind of love it, in a weird way. i can't even tell ya how many sleepless nights i've had just thinking about stuff like this. like, for class i have to show eight pictures with something that is mysterious, makes sound, and is seducing. i've been driving myself nuts trying to think of what to do for this, but after staring at the wall i think i've finally got it!
anyways, your silhouettes are adorable, i think a zine is a great idea. i would buy one! you should have one just full of joke silhouettes. knock knock, who's there? i eat mop.
Ah, well I'm sure whatever you produce will be absolutely grand. Are you still planning to go to UGA? I'm very much debating moving to Athens within the year. My sister is pushing for it and how can you really deny the wishes of family? Anyway, I suggest that if we both end up there, we'll have to plan for many art/craft get-together-and-create-stuff afternoons!
aw, you should move there! i'm finding out sometime in may if i'm in or not, so if i am, and you decide to move in with your sister, art/craft get-together-and-create-stuff afternoons will commence! especially because i won't know anybody there. :)
I am (most likely) moving to Athens as soon as I get a job. And my sister is married! I won't be living with her, so let me know if you're searching for a roommate. I know the area, my sister can walk through the house for us, and I think roommates from LJ beat randoms on Craigslist!
If not, it'll be fabulous to semi-know someone in the area who is my age. Otherwise, I'll hang out with my sister's friends who have an average age of about 30 and are by and large married.
oohhh, i am totally interested! man i'm even more excited now. even if i don't get in, i'm going to appeal or re-apply for spring quarter. so, i'll keep you updated!
