got so much done

This weekend, many things were accomplished.

Highlights from my Dad:
- Dad fixed my vacuum!!!
- Dad hooked up my air conditioner!! Even though my windows are old and nonstandard, he made it fit, which I could never have done myself! Now that I have it, I'm actually kind of excited and wish I'd bought one sooner.

In the apartment:
- tidied up entire apartment, putting junk away and trashing crap
- washed all dishes
- watered plants
- cleaned kitchen, put out clean towels
- Drainoed the tub
- swept bathroom floor with dustpan and brush because it was that bad
- scrubbed entire bathroom
- changed sheets, rotated mattress
- vacuumed all rugs twice
- vacuum-hosed all the baseboards in the apartment
- dry-Swiffered all floors twice
- wet Swiffered hardwood floors once, kitchen and bathroom twice
- rearranged plugs in bedroom outlets to accommodate air conditioner
- 3.5 loads of laundry, including the bath mat
- all laundry clean, dry, folded, put away, except for those jeans on the drying rack
- was inspired to buy new table linens--now kitchen is awesome
- was inspired to buy sunflowers--now living room is awesome

Non-apartmental accomplishments:
- wrote lengthy feature article on passive voice for Fandom_Grammar and posted for review on time
- received haircut!
- saw family I hadn't seen in around 15 years and was successfully social
- made it to church, sat with friends, really enjoyed sermon about yoga and spirituality
- did not kill anyone at the horrible grocery store
- did slaughter many sand demons; game not yet complete

The haircut especially went well, which I know you all were wondering about. The salon, Gravity Hair, has only been open for about nine months. It's a really pretty salon, decorated all in greens and browns like something out of HGTV. My stylist Amanda was really nice. The shampoo girl gave me a lovely scalp massage. Best part was checking out. The girl at the desk said, "You get five dollars off for your first visit, so your total is $30." That's a double-whammy of awesomeness right there: five dollars off for my first visit is a really nice deal, AND that means the total for the haircut without blow dry was only $35. So that means the price range on the website (the $42-55 range) includes the blow dry, and Amanda's regular price is $45. I'd guess the $55 would be if you get one of the two owners. I think I'll be perfectly happy with Amanda. The hair is really so much better than it was before. It was getting long and straggly. It's curling all cute now. Later this week I may try blowing it out to see what it looks like--now that I have the air conditioner, the summer humidity won't be prohibitive to blow drying.

I'm so amazed at how great my apartment looks right now. I keep walking around (barefoot, because the floors are finally clean) just looking at it. I still have a few more things to do before F gets here (like filing some papers, wiping off my dresser top, rerunning the air conditioner cord, dealing with sack of the clothes to go to goodwill), but overall, I'm totally psyched about my apartment right now. Why can't I KEEP it this way?
