some past happenings

ok, not much to do, might as well update. so last tues i had 3 tests on tues: organic, physics and bio. they all went fairly well, except for physics, actually. but atleast organic and bio are going really well. after all that mental excerise, it was time for gattitown. i met michelle, danielle and payne over in e lot, and then mike and stepho arrived, along w/ holly and emily. we all then departed for the magic land of pizzeria buffets and games, and it was an amazingly good time. osteve also met us there after he got off work, and we watched 101 dalmations while chowin down on some food. after we were done eating (and the movie was over) we ventured into gattitown, where among other things, payne DDRed, mike & stepho played a game about being firefighters, emily & holly played air hockey, me & mike killed dinosaurs, stepho & osteve showed their drumming abilities, just about everyone played skeeball, stepho won a stuffed animal monkey (and then was required to go around asking ppl if they wanted to see his monkey), and, of course, me, stepho, holly and emily rode the carousel! and osteve got it on tape, hell yea! the carousel rocks and u know it. finally, after keeping them open for a half hour longer than they should have been, we decided to cut them a break and leave. but not before michelle got a green bag, w/ a little incompetence to boot(worker: "sorry, we only have that bag in green"; michelle: "well thats good since i asked for a green one"). o well. then mike dropped michelle and danielle off at their dorm, and took me back to his house, where we hung out for a little while. then after realizing i still had to read for honors, he gave me a ride back.

weds i watched uc get beat on a last second, running 3-pointer by gerry mcnamara, a little more tournament week action, then went to chem excel and acted like a leader. or as close to one as i could be, anyway. afterwards i went back and watched some tv, then headed over to patterson for some free pizza, ale-8, and recycling spiel. i enjoyed it since i knew a good number of ppl there also (like brad, anthony, jo, kelly, sameera, tiffany, shane, etc.) and the pizza and company were excellent. after chattin w/ emily at the desk for a little bit, i returned to my room to study a bit...and watch rutgers-seton hall. then after an hour (b/c i said i would be back in exactly 1 hr!), i came back to patterson to make some peanut butter chocolate chip cookies. they were delish, as agreed upon by me, kelly, tyler, emily, m'shae, and my roommate. after that short detour, i came back, watched louisville almost pull out an improbable comeback, a little pac-10 action, and then hit the sack.

thurs i got tests back. organic and bio went well, physics did not. i'm gonna try to get a few points back tho. i mean, if u solve a problem right, u shouldnt still lose points on it. i also saw the end of that great syracuse-uconn game (btw, either uconn/duke is winning the national championship; right now, slight edge to uconn). then, unfortunately, i had freaking bio lab right during the uk game! and they couldnt cancel class! jeez! i must say tho, it was a pretty fun class. not really any challenging lab exercises, and lots of socializing, so thats always fun. and peng finally let us out kinda early. once he did, i headed over to andy and brent's room to watch the end of the game. which they pulled out, thankfully. that would have just been ridiculous if we would have lost to ole miss. anyways, then i came back and looked over some african capitals b/c i had a geo 160 test on fri (the fri before spring break!), until it was time for dinner. yay, and dinner was at qdoba, and we got to meet emily's adorable, younger sister charlotte. shes like 2-3 yrs old and really cute, i see what emily is talking about now. that was a pretty fun dinner w/ emily, her step-mom, charlotte, holly, stepho, parker and april, mike, jo, nicole, ray, payne and osteve. lots of good convo (who would win: a pirate or a viking?) and lots of good times. o yea, and in the parking lot i spotted the funniest license plate ever. it said "GNR ROX". haha, i felt the need to point that out to stepho, i knew he would appreciate it. unfortunately when i got back, i had some major studyage to do for geo. that didnt stop me from getting mondo-distracted tho. i mean, 1st, well, i had to watch the end of the xavier game. they were able to pull off the upset of charlotte, which was pretty sweet. then other bball was on, incl. the game i had been hyping all day: oregon-wash. and surprisingly, it was a crazy good game. oregon's star point guard was ejected in the 1st half for a blatant elbow to the face, wash took a commanding lead, then oregon came back behind the hot shooting of their 3rd string point guard, who hit 6 3s, and oregon made an amazing comeback to win! i was stoked. after that tho, and lots of internet convo, and jo stopping by earlier b/c she didnt want to do her recycling in the rain, i finally got down to studying. i got some pretty good study done, i knew all my facts and african & middle eastern capitals. so about 330ish i called it a nite and slept for a few hrs.

fri i got up a little early and crammed some more. then i went to honors and listened to a presentation on music. it was semi-entertaining. then it was test time, and i found that i was actually a little over-prepared. i mean, out of 50 questions, there were only about 3 that i was not 100% sure about. so, i'm pretty sure i got an a on it, which rocks. then i went back to my room, did some last-minute packing, met my mom, and it was finally spring break. the 1st thing we did was stop at georgetown for some lunch, and we WERE gonna stop at a nice, little hole-in-the-wall pizzeria in the bookstore shopping center. except that when we got there we found that it had closed!! *extreme sadness* and it looked like about half of the other stores in that fairly big shopping center were also closing. its really sad. and that might include the bookstore. which would be really, really sad. anyways, we settled on getting waffle house, which was alright. after eating, we had an interesting conversation on the way back, which incl. talk of body weight, weddings, and births. yeeeaaaaaa. we eventually made it back. then that nite i went to see some a-10 semifinal action at us bank arena, along w/ my mom and older bro. that was pretty entertaining. well, the temple-st joes game wasnt really all that interesting. st joes was pretty much ahead by about 10 the whole game, and it didnt really seem that close. plus the lack of sleep was giving me trouble paying attention. once the game was over i headed straight for the concessions w/ my bro and got a dew. ha, and on the way back we ran into stambaugh. it was crazy, i thought i heard someone say "dan" so i started looking around and then i just heard really loudly "FFFFRRRRRROOOOOOOOO" and there he was. so, that was pretty cool. after chatting him up, we just barely made it back to our seats in time for tip-off of the big xavier-fordham game. seriously tho, those are my 2 favorite a-10 teams, and the game played out pretty much exactly like i would want a xavier-fordham game to play. it was fairly close for most of it, fordham got some calls to keep them in it, but eventually xavier pulled away for a 12-pt victory. good times.

sat i didnt do much, except watch uk blow it against south carolina. again. grrr, it seems like they beat us atleast once every yr. i blame t mac, he's workin some kind of magic down there. and then duke won, and unc lost. it was not a very good day in bball for the most part. except that XAVIER WON! w00t! it was such an unexpected run to the tourney, and such a great one at that. and now they are the only school to have won 4 games in 4 days to win their conference tourney twice. good stuff. also that nite, i went to see the play, footloose, w/ my older bro. i must say, i thought it was pretty good. tyler, sarah, bh, beebe, molly, and everyone else did a really good job w/ it. it kept me quite entertained.

today i went to church. then afterwards we went over to my grandma's house b/c my aunt was in town from texas, so we went over there and hung out for a while. we also had a semi-brunch w/ goetta and toast, very delicious. we were over there for a couple of hours. then came back and watched basketball for a while and didnt really do anything. then watched the selection show. i felt smart cuz i called xavier as a 14 and uk as 8. but uc did not make it, that was quite shocking. i really think that what happened was that they put a cap on the big east at 8, so it was pretty much btwn seton hall and uc for the last spot. and they looked at the regular season and saw that seton hall beat uc (at seton hall, mind u), and so they decided to take seton hall. too bad uc is actually better than them, it was a stupid move. and all the analysts were saying that uc was in, they werent even mentioned in bubble talk all week. and wtf, how could they put george washington as an 8. yea, they didnt exactly have the toughest schedule, but they still only lost 2 games all yr, 1 on the road to another tournament team, and 1 w/o their big man (and my boy) pops, who btw, is supposed to be back for the tourney. grrrrrrr, no respect. i think uk is looking like a 2nd round exit is in store. o well, its been that kind of season. hopefully next yr will be better.

well, i've done enough tournament ranting for now, i'm sure more will come in the next week. hope everyone has a great week/spring break. catcha later bill and ted!
