so, i'm doing a part in this presentation about "little magazines" (aka zines) as part of of a larger project in my history of the book class (presenting with two other people, one will address fine press and/or literary press, etc.). below is a list of zines that i'm thinking about taking in with me to show how many types of different zines there are, different sizes, materiality, and how book arts and zines cross boundaries and weave in and out of each other, also about zine history, the part of the press in popular movements, and a lot more. it will get narrowed down after meeting with my other partners.
so my question is, out of this list (which is only a tidbit of my zine archive), what zines do you think would demonstrate these points the best? is less more? also, if your zine is on this list, please let me know if you prefer i don't use it. i've picked each of these out for different reasons, but i think if some object to me using their zine, then i can find another to illustrate a point. if it makes any difference, they won't be studied too closely by my class, just passed around and glanced through most likely.
now, obviously, i'm going to have to narrow this list down because i can't take up the whole 90 minute presentation with my part. but this is a start for me.
