Poetry in motion?

So yesterday morning as i drove to work on IH 35 right after the 51st st overpass i saw this white blur racing down from Mcdonalds throught the feeder road and onto IH 35. 3 lanes it just missed the first car the second went underneath the SUV and kept going, i slowed down as much as possible but even at full steam i would have missed the bugger but i had my doubts it would make the leap over the concrete dividers and bounce back in my lane. I looked briefly behind me and next to me no room to swerve i would take this critter out regardless so i decided not to endanger myself or others. I made decision long ago as a kid and my father swerved off the road and into a ditch with us in the back (back before there were any kids seats) my mother screamed in anger at him, yelling at him, letting him know that he had put his family at risk. Other than body damage on the car we were okay just more jostled by my mother's reaction at the time, it made me sad but she was right. Going back to the story, the blur, well the Jack Russel terrier made it over in one leap and onto the northbound traffic of IH 35, i saw red brakelights erupt through the lanes but i chose to look away, don't need that on my memory i got plenty as it is. I will drive by today and keep a look out for any bodies, i hope i don't find any. That Terrier was going full stride full of confidence, no fear just riding that beautiful moment, oblivious to the near death experiences all around it. I hope the bugger made it.... i will drive by there today and see for any traces.....
