On one hand Abel is like one of Haru's more favorite people at camp. He's fun, he's exciting, they get along well. THEY TALK LIKE THIS ♥ all the time and he likes that. It's fun, it's loose... but it's very impersonal for Haru. Sex is impersonal for Haru, so is cuddling and touching. Anything that's physical is pretty distanced for him in that way. He has a weird duality around most things, but like this. He would quite easily fight to the death for most of the people he meets (deciding this after only having met them for a while) but he'd do that without telling them anything ever about himself. On the same hand he's a horrible vicious little cockroach when it comes to surviving and even basically dying (canon is unclear, but I'd say he was far past 'good as dead' and more like 'dead') and dying for people isn't really an option. Which, is coupled with Fire Candy's theme of running and loving and doing stuff to the max before you burn out (metaphorically and literally). CLEARLY I AM ON TOPIC.
Also, Abel doesn't touch any of Haru's 'happy pings' and by happy pings I mean BLOOD AND VIOLENCE. Which. Yeah. Abel's prollllly like Taminko from Automatix where on greeting her he's like "HEY ARE YOU STILL A VIRGIN ♥ *kissu*" and she says something back I FORGET. Yeah. But even though Haru likes Abel in that chummy fun cuddling way, there's more than an arm's length of distance between them.
