holy crap!
Ok, today was long. and I mean super long. I had so much to do and then I agreed to do a staged reading, which was a lot of fun, but took 3 hours away from my paper writing and setting up my performance this evening. I then rehearsed what I could and went to my evening final...which lasted 4 and a half hours!!! I was really tired, and kind of frustrated, but the performance went a lot better than I thought it would, and by a lot better, I mean I really kicked some ass. As I left class at 10:45, I checked my phone and I was bombarded with texts. I had set it up so that a bunch of us would go to Rasputina tonight and me, the one who set it up, wasn't there when one of the best bands ever was taking the stage. As Stace's text said, "WTF!?!" I wanted to just go home and write my last papers, but I figured I should go, at least for a bit. It was amazing. It kicked some major ass and made me so friggin' happy and excited, and I got to dance, and it was just all around exciting and amazing! I just got home and lit the Channukah Menorah. It's the last night, and as I am about a thousand times more relaxed than I was a couple of hours ago, it reminded me that all the school stuff is stuff I need to do to physically survive, and to make my place in the world, but sometimes, or, rather, often, it fails to give me what I need to really enjoy life. Seeing all my friends and listening to Rasputina kick ass makes me remember that I need so much more than just school to survive. it was great. my ears are ringing. i feel really good. yay!
