I decided to try making this except with eggs:

So as I waited for the weave to cook in the oven, in between running back and forth to open windows and wave a towel under the smoke detector each time it went off, I made myself a plain 3-egg omelette in an 8in. pan on med-low heat with butter, with some powdered chicken broth and pepper mixed into the eggs. I covered the omelette a few minutes for it to cook quicker. When the omelette was done I cut off the round edges to make it square to fit the weave, and set it aside. I drained the pan with the weave in it twice during cooking cause all the fat was splattering all over my oven and smoking like crazy.
When the weave was done, I grated some mild light cheddar on top and stuck it back in for a minute or so to melt the cheese. Then took it out and put the square omelette on top, and of course without waiting for the weave to cool (much to the dismay of the nerve endings in my fingertips, hey, I wanted to see what it tasted like NOW!) I rolled it up and cut it in half and dug in (much to the joy of my tastebuds!)
I decided to only eat half of it, seeing as there were 12 slices of bacon in it, and save the other half for lunch tomorrow. I wanted some starch to go with it so after I polished off half the roll I made a toast. I didn't want to butter it cause I didn't want to add any more grease than I already had, so I mixed 1 heaping tsp hellman's mayo and 1 tsp mild salsa to spread on the toast instead (yeah, I know, sooo much better!) and sprinkled some garlic salt, oregano and black pepper, and started eating it till I remembered I still had some leftover omelette strips to use up, so stuck two of those on top and finished off.
Bon appetit, bacon lovers!!
