You could read my post about how someone compared the training I got courtesy of the USN with ice hockey. That'll liven your night, I'm sure. *note high toned sarcasm*
She sounds like an ignorant fool, and I'd very much like to slap her. But I wouldn't, because though that'd drive the point home, it'd drag me down to her level of studidity.
A guy's shunt fell out and there was blood everywhere...I was able to remain calm, but I came unglued at her comment...and I'm still angry and the sore spot is even more tender...
The guy is okay. I'm surprised with the amount of blood lost, but he's fine.
I know a few people at work and in the military who have heard that comment who want to send her straight to Iraq and see how tough she really is, since she says she's not afraid of anyone. Let's see how afraid she is of an enemy she can't see...let's see if she won't run home to mommy and daddy crying.
I'm happy the guy's alright. It's awesome you kept your head during that ordeal. =P
And I totally disagree with sending her to Iraq. Her over-inflated ego would probably put others in danger. And there's enough danger over there as it is; no sense in sticking an(other) ignoramus in the mix.
Tossing her into a pool, though? There's a great navy/marine experience! They teach you how not to drown in hockey camp, sweetheart?!
No...sending her in ALONE since she's so tough and can handle the South Bronx and some of the toughest kids in the country.
I'm an HM. We're taught how to keep our cool. After all, if we don't, we could lose our Marine...and the Navy respects and relies on Marines. And having been in those situations before...
But, the pool...yeah...she won't be able to swim fully geared up. Hell...I can't and I'm pretty damn tough.
I know...it's the only time I ever had to jump off the platform into the water...but they at least let us use swimsuits. I hate to think of how many of us can't swim in our uniforms! LoL
I work with a few Marines and they say that the only good part of the Navy are HMs! : ) But, you Marines do what we won't or can't do...Srsly.
Kind of scary, if you think about it. Like, what are the chances you're in your trunks when your ship goes down? Um...like no percent? haha
Oh, there's a lot more to the Navy than that! There's, um, great food! Haha! But seriously you know why I don't talk smack 'bout the Navy? Like, ever? I probably wouldn't have a freakin' job if it weren't for the USN. So there. :)
Plus, my stepdad would have my head on a plate if I trashed the Navy's good name under his roof.
I know the Marines respect the Navy the way we respect you all. I just love the fact that the Navy and Marines have the ability to pick at each other and still defend each other.
Well, you never know. You could be on the Steel Beach, tanning or some shit like that and BAM! The ship sinks...LoL
Ah man, doggies v Coasties v Navy/Marine would make for some prime "1941"-type riots. I would pay to see it. From a distance. Through some glasses. From my couch, far away from the fight.
And I have an excuse! He's four years old and he's got my DNA!

I probably would have let it go except we had a situation at work yesterday that sent me back to another place and time...and she makes that comment!

*le sigh*
What happened at work? If I might ask...

And GAWD, I just want to toss this girl off a 30ft diving board, backwards, blindfolded, geared up. Stupid, stupid girl. Think quick!

Btw, nothing but respect for you HMs, here. You guys do what so many of us couldn't.
And I was only able to do it once, in boot. Actually, that's the only time I ever had to LOL!
