Before I get into that, I want to put an update on ferrets. Due to the fact I currently have thirteen ferrets, I have to sell some. Gave them all sad cuddles this morning as I sorted the ones most suitable for new homes so I keeping seven and selling six. The advert went up this morning, I'm gonna miss them so much.

Okay, trip to Edinburgh. My Dad had a virus security conference to go to and we needed him in person at the American embassy for passport renewal (only open on Tue and Thur) so it worked out pretty well. Up at 3am to feed sheep and the horse before a long cramped drive down. Dropped my Dad off and we (Mum and sisters) went for a slow wander through Prince's street gardens and down through random alleyways. It was surprisingly quiet, not too many people up and the only ones up were suits. Well, bar computers there were also early rising fringe advertisers posting posters and thrusting leaflets at us. First tourist stop of the day was Mary King's Close. This was really interesting; beneath this government building (treasury or sommat) there was a whole close from old Edinburgh, which they'd simply built on top of because they wanted a level building. Here's a pic I found.
The tour guide was masquerading as the daughter of Mary King and told us all about the plague and life in Edinburgh at the time. This was all stuff I've covered before but seeing the original stones and walls of the time was really good. Definitely recommend it if you ever go there.
After this we returned to the surface to a street packed with performers and tourists. Got a stack of leaflets for shows as we made our way over to the embassy. My Mum was being helpful as I took a photo of it.
After the passport renewal we -had- planned to go to the Edinburgh dungeon but faced with over an hour's wait, we went window-shopping instead. Got increasingly grumpier with being barged into and pushed against buildings as we made our way down Prince's street before rounding the day off with a kebab (*drool*). Trip back felt even more cramped and we finally got home at 11ish. Thoughts? Edinburgh felt really dirty.
Eep! The phone just rang, my precious ferrets!
