I guess I didn't notice that this article went up over the weekend.
Link to article There's really nothing new from me in this article. It's basically a new interview that J!-ENT did this year and a lot of other interviews and assorted coverage that we've done for PuffyAmiYumi over the years. I do have some interesting personal stories about this article. Among the articles in here is some coverage that we did for a show at the Wiltern in 2005. This was actually one of the first free concerts that I ever got to go to with J!-ENT. We tried to get the photo pass, but weren't able to get it, but I was allowed to go anyway. I watched and enjoyed the show and dreamed that one day, I'd be able to shoot awesome bands like Puffy. At that point, I had been with J!-ENT for less than one year.
Fast forward to page 35 of the article and that's when I finally got my chance. I was able to shoot a show in 2007 at the Anaheim House of Blues. This was my first shoot for a big club show and a very important band. I had done smaller clubs covering independent bands on the Japan Nite Tour, but it was nothing like this. It was a great experience and I felt that I've finally achieved something that I had always dreamed of doing. It's definitely one of the coolest things I've done as a photographer. I still have the photo pass and it's the pink one that currently dangles from my camera bag. I went on to photography a lot of incredible bands and shows and hopefully we'll see some more soon.
