Download Tuesday (One Day Late)

I missed last week, so I gotta make up for it this week.  As advertised, I got the Lady Gaga pack this week, which consists of:

"Bad Romance"
"Just Dance"
"Monster" and
"Poker Face"

This week, I didn't feel like doing drums.  I went for vocals instead just to mix things up.  As much as I love drums, I still consider vocals as the skill in the game that I'm best at.  Anybody who has played RB or gone karaoke with me knows that I kinda like singing.  I'm a big cheeseball at it, but it's fun.  As far as RB goes, I can pass just about every song on expert vocals.  I can't do that with any of the instruments--not on expert.  Even tough I can do that, I still prefer to play on hard level just because you can goof around a bit more.

The first two songs I tackled were "Bad Romance" and "Poker Face"

Did I pass these songs?  Sure I did.  After these songs I was sweating like a mad man.  "Poker Face" was the more difficult out of the two.  I spent a lot time wondering why I wasn't getting "awesome" and a lot of "strong" and "good" phrases.  "Bad Romance" caught me off guard because it's the album version and I'm not used to the song starting like that.  I'm used to hearing the radio version.  Eventually, I'll get to the other songs.  I guess "Monster" is the "why the hell did they choose this song" track on this pack.  For the rest of the session, I went off and did some other things.  There are so many songs on here that I've never done vocals to and wanted to give it a shot.

Last week, I went into the listing of older downloads and found "Hysteria" by Muse:

This was the first time that I've tried this song for any skill.  Despite all the stuff that going on vocally, it's actually a really easy song.  If you're any good at doing falsetto and transitioning between that and a normal voice, you'll be fine.  It sounds difficult, but it's not.  The difficulty rating isn't even very high.  I also sang Green Day's "¡Viva La Gloria!" for the first time and I had an absolute ball with it.  I absolutely love this song.  I also tried Pearl Jam's "Just Breathe" on expert for the first time.  (97%--you gotta be kidding)  I love singing Pearl Jam songs.  There were some other songs that I did but can't remember at the moment.

Also downloaded last week was "Seven Nation Army" by The White Stripes:

I tried it on expert drums last weekend and it's a piece of cake.  As you can tell, it's pretty simple.  It's still a fun song and a pretty good addition to the library.  That brings the total number of songs to 364.  We're on our way to 400.  It's only a matter of time.
