Weekend Recap + Download Tuesday + Website Update

Oct 20, 2009 21:18

The weekend was fairly busy.  I had a few errands to run on Saturday morning, including grocery shopping, going to the post office, paying a few bills, and having to get a smog check for my car.  The rest of the afternoon was spent going to a few camera shops.  I picked up a few things that might be useful.  I'll get a chance to try all of this gear this weekend.  Maybe I'll like this stuff.  Maybe I won't.    I guess it just becomes a part of the ridiculously large pool of camera equipment that we all have.

Sunday was also fairly interesting.  I went to the gym in the morning.  After lunch, I worked on ACC photos for a bit.  After making significant progress, I decided to go out for awhile and do some Halloween shopping.  What did I get?  It's a mystery, but I suppose I'm ready for any Halloween party or a "I'm not going to Y-con" party.  It's all the same.  So, the weekend was very productive.

It's the first free weekend that I've had in awhile.  I don't know if it was relaxing or not, but it feels good to get stuff done.  I thought I was finished with events until PMX, but things come up and now all my weekends are filling up with activities and I'll be busy again until PMX is over.  I hope the backlog doesn't get too big.

OK, on to Download Tuesday.  Today I downloaded the 10-pack of songs by Queen.  I love Queen.  This brings the total number of songs in the Rockband song list to 289.  The songs in this pack are:

• “Another One Bites the Dust”
• “Crazy Little Thing Called Love”
• “Fat Bottomed Girls”
• “I Want It All”
• “I Want to Break Free”
• “Killer Queen”
• “One Vision”
• “Somebody to Love”
• “Tie Your Mother Down”
• “Under Pressure”

Usually I would attach some Youtube videos in case people are too familiar with the songs.   I'm not going to do that this week since there are so many songs and most were recorded before there were such a thing as music videos.  Just to make it easy, the songs in bold are the songs that I tried and passed.  All of these were passed on expert level drums.  The songs that I passed were all level 3 and below.  I'm fairly consistent at level 3 songs on expert these days.  "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" is also level 3, but it's complicated and failed it very quickly.  "I Want It All" is level 4.  It's very easy until you get to the guitar solo and then it's ridiculous.  Even on hard level, I fail at the same part.   I definitely need to practice that one.  So far, the most fun songs for me were "Somebody to Love" and "Under Pressure".  The rhythms were really fun to play.  We'll get 2 more songs when Lego RB comes out in a few weeks--"We Are the Champions" and "We Will Rock You".  I haven't tried to sing these yet.  These are very difficult songs for vocals, but it's going to be fun to try.

Finally, I've finished with my photos from Anime Con Carne.  Another finished project!!
