It looks like the GRAMMY Museum re-opened the Michael Jackson exhibit earlier today.

I was fortunate to be able to see this exhibit earlier in the year.  The museum wasn't very busy when I went.  I imagine it will be a lot busier if I wanted to see this exhibit again.  My LJ post about my visit to the GRAMMY Museum is here.  A lot of you will be in town for AX next week.  If it floats your boat, go check it out.  The museum is at LA Live right across the street from the Holiday Inn.  It's amazing to see those things up close.

I just got back from Little Tokyo.  There were showings of Astro Boy, Gigantor, and Voltron in the plaza in front of JACCC.  The turnout was quite good.  I'd say that over 1,000 people were out there.  Fred Ladd was there to give a few comments and sign stuff.  Geez, a lot of that old skool stuff makes absolutely no sense and is super cheesy.  But that's good.  I went mainly for Voltron, and I wasn't too pleased with the way they presented it.  Instead of playing the audio of the video that was on, they thought it would be cool for a DJ to spin a bunch of trance music during the whole thing.  We got to read the subtitles at least.  Not cool.  The music didn't even go with the action that was going on on the the screen.  It was totally random and inappropriate most of the time.  Stupid idea.  EDC is down the road.  Go away and let us have the correct audio.  Gigantor was just confusing.  Why is there some super secret evil army hiding in Antarctica?  We also got to see the trailer for the upcoming Astro Boy movie.  It's an updated version so it's a modern Pixar-looking movie.
