I arrived in Little Tokyo a little before 11 AM. After some scouting around, there wasn't a whole lot going on. Things were just getting started. I decided to get some lunch at Curry House. After lunch, I went back to the festival and started running into people. I'm amazed at how many people ended up coming, even if it was for just a little while. I love these type of cultural festivals and was happy to have so many friends around. I hope that everybody enjoyed themselves. Yes, I did do my ondo dance, since some people drove two hours to see me do it. If you missed it, too bad. The next time that you might get the opportunity to see me do that again is Nisei Week in August. Hopefully, some of you will join me next time. It's easy and it's more fun to participate than to simply watch. If I'm willing to go out there and look silly, you can do it too. We also got to watch a lot of sexy hula and I did get my Yogurtland fix satisfied.
After the festival ended for the day, our group had dwindled down to
_shiya_wind ,
andyrak ,
evalime ,
minhsoi ,
qcamera ,
shuupoo , her sister and friends, and James and his wife. We skipped the Electric Cherry Blossom event. It was hard to justify spending $20 to get in. If anybody went, tell me how it was. We walked to Walt Disney Concert Hall to take a few photos. It's a great building to take a few photos at. The architecture is so interesting and the garden in the back is really nice. It was quite a walk though, but walking around downtown can be fun.
After that, most of us went for dinner in Alhambra and some Chinese restaurant that gave huge portions for really cheap. I had beef stew and wonton lo-mein. It was the best meal I ever had. The meals were so huge that most people could not finish all of their food, but I was able to finish all of mine and still have room for dessert. That's because it was so fantastic. Beef tendon is the best. Thanks to
shuupoo for recommending that dish to me. I need to go back to that restaurant and have more of that. Yum.
Thanks to everybody for an awesome Saturday.
Today, I was able to exchange my Xbox 360. I had to turn in the games that came with my old bundle so goodbye Forza 2 and Marvel Ultimate Alliance and hello Kung Fu Panda and Lego Indiana Jones. I don't think that was a good trade, but I had no choice. Kung Fu Panda looks fun though. Fortunately, I was able to keep my old hard drive with all of my stuff on it. I spent a lot of the afternoon hooking it up and giving it a little test run. I drummed a bit too hard and busted a T-fitting, which is a piece that holds drum rack pipes together. I hate these darn cheap parts that came with the original kit. So, I'm back in business. Yay.
This week is a short week for me. I get Friday off. Good stuff. I need a break.
