Download Tuesday

My back is feeling much better than it did on the weekend.   However, my seasonal allergies are killing me.  It's making me miserable.

I didn't get any downloads this week.  There aren't any new songs that appeal to me.  Next week, Pearl Jam's Ten album gets re-released so everybody knows what next week's download selections will be.  I'm looking to get maybe 3 or 4 new songs next week.

New cymbals arrived in the mail yesterday.  I have a new pair of Pintech TC 10" cymbals that a lot of people on the Rock Band forums recommended.  The new cymbals are much better and are doing what I hoped they would do.  Scoring is way up with these cymbals because they work.  No more double hits or crosstalk or hits that don't register.  It's really easy to get a long streak going.  I also don't have to spend any time tuning these cymbals.  Tuning seemed like a big waste of time and in the end, the old stock cymbals still very unreliable.  Stock cymbals were simply pieces of junk.  I'm satisfied.  The only drawbacks that I notice is that they spin easily, so they have to be tightened down very securely and I probably should have bought larger sized cymbals.  They don't seem to be as robust as my Roland CY-5 or the stock cymbals for that matter, but if they work, that 's all that counts.  Other than that, they seem okay.  If I didn't get any more upgrades for this drum kit, it would be okay for SoCal picnic and everybody would have a good time with it without getting too frustrated.  But, I've got a few more upgrades that I want to get.  Only one more component needs to be mail-ordered.  The rest can be bought locally.  I hope to finish this thing in 2-3 weeks and after that will be a massive amount of testing and reconfiguring.
