ABCDEFGHI've got a gal in Kalamazoo

Twenty points to whoever can identify the singer of that song without using teh innertubes.

So I went to Kalamazoo on a whim on Monday. It was awesome. For one thing, I think it's the first trip I have taken where I was just like, look, I'm going to do this thing for myself because I want to and do it without having to depend on anyone else. Well, I kind of had to depend on Gini to host me, but still I pretty much decided on my own to go, and damn I'm glad I did. Sometimes I get lost in this quagmire of a future and I need to ground myself on silliness. Yes, ground myself on silliness. I need Gini around to remind me of how great (and, indeed, awesome) it is to be weird and different, not for their own sake, but because it's better that way. It's like a recharging of my spiritual batteries. I love being weird and I love that there's no pressure to be anything but. I also love Zombie Fluxx. It's like Fluxx but with an added level of difficulty.

I also really like Gini. We have this super awesome friendship where we're just kind of compatible and it's super. It also fits in nicely with this quasi-Buddhist mentality I'm attempting to refine and practice in my life. Basically, Gini rocks. And we also have the same outlook on a lot of things in life, which is also cool and useful.

I'm kind of making an effort to use different and more exciting words in this post, lest I be too awesome, and it's rather difficult. It's interesting how much we fall back on our usual patterns in life, which definitely include language, and how! People should think about things like this more, because things are interesting and fun and revealing to talk about. I also happen to think that "The Metamorphosis" by Kafka is freaking brilliant.

So is Ottawan.

Discuss.
