School's Out

I went to school today, and absolutely nothing went according to plan. It was awesome.

Firstly, I met Sarah outside of the Freshman Campus, where we saw Mr. Makinen and talked to him for a while. Brett lied and class had already started when we got there, but I think I'll forgive him for that. Well, we made it up to the room to have the bitchy student teacher be all like, "Oh. Her daughter is sick." We were flabbergasted. That's a great word, flabbergasted, isn't it? That's what we were. So we headed downstairs and found Gerd, who had apparently tried earlier to no avail. Hey, I think Brett's German room is where I had Geometry. Anyway, we went to the main building, where Peter Vacarro wasn't in and Rott was in a class. We split up.

Sarah and I went to Mr. O's class, where we saw my lover Sy and Bobby Billman, among others whom we knew. Turns out To the Last Man by Jeff Shaara (which I just finished last night, thank you) is their extra credit book. Anyway, Sarah gave a little speech with me nodding here and there and we watched the FDR video (ala Teddy Roosevelt music...hey, why are both of them known by their initials anyway?) while I stole candy from Sy's "I got a 4 point" bag. We never had those. Back in the day life was harsh. Oh yeah, before that we had visited Mother S in her office, griping about the new system and finding out that Erin was having a good time in Jersey.

Then Gerd and I were going to go to Rott's room like we initially planned, but there was this doorkeeper girl who didn't believe that we belonged there. We found Oni, his friend, and skipped out to McDonald's. No security. These kids don't know how lucky they are, I'm telling you. Well, we got back and finally got to Rott's (she had been in a meeting) and she was all...wait for it, wait for it...flabbergasted. It's okay, just one of those days (cue Limp Bizkit song). I did get a chance to talk to her a bit about my recent epiphaniziationingnessitudity (that one's for you, babe) about becoming a teacher or something. So now there are two teachers in the same school willing to take me in for student teaching (she and O) so that may help.

Oh, she also persuaded me to set up MySpace. I'll use it as another writing journal, or paste interesting stuff from here, or whatever. There are only so many online little thingies you can have though, you know? I like LJ the best still, I think. Oh, and she knows, and she did know in high school (like anyone couldn't with my writing and "angst"). It's totally cool. It's so nice to be able to just exist and have people be cool with it. It gives me this weird positive energy that is usually so alien to my nature. So now I'm all hyped up on I don't know, life or something, and there's no way I'm going back to World War I in this mood. Maybe I'll write something. I could work on my sonnet. Cool beans.

I'm going back to school tomorrow. Holler back yo. Oh, yeah, I also broke a lamp at Robin's house. Actually, her dog did it. It was really cool and shredded the lampshade. Gut 'n' tag, folks.
