Mark Allhoff Everyone is always going to have problems in their life. You have to notice the simple things and enjoy them. Also, it's hard not to focus on the bad, but looking at the bad in a different light can help.
One example I can give is that I've been pissed that people don't know how to clean out the dryer lint in my apartment building's laundry room. It's so annoying and they never clean it out! Then I stopped to think about it, I was like, wait, when I was a kid I used to love taking the lint off, I'd ask my mom to do it when I helped her with the laundry. So now, when other people leave the lint in the dryer I try to change my perspective and think how it can be fun.
Not everything has to be negative. If you think something is negative, just think about how it could be positive. Another example is that if you don't get a close parking space, instead of getting pissed that you're so far away, just think of how you're getting a few more steps of exercise. (Parking lots aren't more than a block long, so it's never even really that far anyways, but people get pissed.)
You can change your perspective on everything. It doesn't happen over night because it's a way of thinking and feeling, but you can try. The more you work on changing your perspective and being aware there are other options to how you feel or look at something, the more likely you'll make progress.
I love you Jeanie!
