My New Year's Resolutions

Dec 31, 2005 11:49

2006 will be a unique year for me.

*It marks the first time since before pre-school that I won't be a student at all. I will be 26 years old this year, which is the first time I've been closer to 30 than to 20. This is the first time in my life that I have truly felt that I will be succesful as a grown-up, and have a "normal" career and be independant of my parents.

1. So my first resolution is to make my career start for real.

*I have not been terribly successful in love, and I hope that this year I will find someone I can be with who I am more than content with and who is more than content with me. The older I get, the more pressure I feel to find someone I can stand for more than 6 months...and in fact, a hell of a lot longer. You know what I mean. The big "M".

2. My second resolution is to not stop until I've found the perfect man, or as close as possible to it.

*This year I will do whatever it takes to get out of the BOONIES and into the CITY. I want to be closer to fun people and fun times and fun places. I want to have friends who live closer than a half hour away. I want going out for drinks to not be an expedition.

3. My third resolution is to find happiness and friendship in the city.

*And last but not least, I want to lose weight! This is cliche, I know, but a new and terrifying phrase has entered my vocabulary: Middle Aged Spread. I must stop this from happening at all costs! Once it starts, it doesn't stop, and I do not want to have to call Jenny Craig. Also, I want to get myself some boobs. I will begin saving for them this year and some day, I will be able to live my dream of going to the beach without extreme embarassment.

4. So my fourth resolution is to lose 15 pounds and wear all my old jeans by this summer, and start saving to get me some knockers.
