National emergencies and whatnot

Feb 25, 2006 01:23

I woke up yesterday morning hearing my mom's voice. I thought she would be scolding me for oversleeping. But it wasn't the case. Classes have been suspended due to rallies at EDSA and a rumored coup attempt.

Sleepy me's reaction was: "WTF?! Well at least I get more sleep!" After around 15 minutes of watching the news, back to dreamland I go.

Later, a "State of National Emergency" was declared. Rallies were dispersed by the police. The leaders of the rallyists were arrested, including Prof. David. I was expecting martial law sooner or later. Good thing things calmed down by the evening.

There's too much going on nowadays. I wish I were a turtle and I'd retreat inside my safe shell. Too bad I'm not. Now is NOT the time to think too much.

Spare me.
