Summary: Chinen gets a love confession via-text from an unknown caller on Valentine’s day. Will he find out who sent it to him?

“I love you Chinen. Since the first day I met you, I lost control of my heart.”
Chinen looked down again at the text message on his phone.
“I love you Chinen. Since the first day I met you, I lost control of my heart.”
Who sent him such a thing? Sure today was Valentines, but the only people he gave his number to were his closest friends. He knew all of their numbers by memory and this one wasn’t one of them. *Maybe someone got the wrong number.* Chinen quickly put the phone back into his pocket and hurried off to school. *but then why would they write ‘Chinen’?*

“Hey Chinen!”
Chinen jolted up. It was Yamada the most popular boy in school and also Chinen’s best friend and first crush (although that crush was crushed when Yamada told Chinen that he liked someone but that’s an entirely different story). For now, they were best friends and that was really all that mattered to both of them.
“Here you go,” Yamada said handing over a small bag of chocolates to Chinen. “Happy Valentine’s day”
“Oh I have some for you too” Chinen smiled brightly at Yamada reaching into his bag. Still reaching. Turning to smile at Yamada who was trying to look over Chinen’s shoulder to see if he could catch a glimpse of what the other boy was doing. Shuffling through everything inside about twenty million times before finally turning around to face Yamada with a pout. “I forgot them”
Yamada smiled warmly at Chinen. “It’s okay Chii”
“But-but I also had some for Yuto and Keito and Ryutaro,” Chinen wondered what could’ve possibly made him forget the chocolates at home. Then it hit him. *Duh! That text threw me off! I still don’t know who could’ve sent it to me… oh! Wait a minute! Could it have been-*
“Yama-chan do you have a new phone number” Chinen’s face perked up, hopeful that maybe, just maybe, Yamada had sent him that text.
“No… why?”
Chinen slumped back. *Of course he doesn’t have a new number! I’m so dumb! Besides he already told me he likes Yuto!... TT^TT aw! Why can’t he love me? At least he’s my friend right? Well I should tell him about the text at least… should I? What if he actually does like me? If I show him the text he’ll lose interest in me! But what if he doesn’t? Okay okay! I need to choose and I choose-*
“I got a weird text message in the morning and that’s why I forgot the chocolate!” Chinen held out his phone with the text message on the screen and shut his eyes tightly waiting for Yamada’s reaction.
“It was probably just a random girl,” Yamada giggled a little, “You’re over reacting Chii”
Chinen sighed. He felt relieved that Yamada didn’t get upset. *Of course he wouldn’t get upset! Why would he? I mean he IS Yamada! And he’s not even interested in me! Why would he be? HE’S YAMADA!!!... TT^TT why doesn’t he love me? I wonder what kind of girl would send this out. Oh wait!-*
“How could she have gotten my number? I only give it out to my closest friends!” Chinen clung to his head dramatically as if losing sanity.
“Calm down” Yamada put his arm around Chinen’s shoulder. *hic-kya! Yamada has his arm around my shoulder!* “For starters do you remember if you gave anyone your number out loud. Like say, ‘MY NUMBER IS 1-800-CHII!’ Because if you did then any person that heard you could’ve saved you’re number.”
“I don’t think I have.”
“Okay then….” Yamada let go of Chinen and sat down on a nearby bench. They thought about it silently. Yamada’s face lit up with a smile. Chinen’s face lit down with worry. Yamada finally said coyly with a smile on his face “Well it’s not like you swore us into secrecy or anything”
Chinen pouted and sulked “but it’s my number!” *which one of my friends would give my number to someone I don’t know?*
“Wait a minute! Did you give my number to someone else?”
“No of course not!” Yamada laughed.
“but then…”
“Look, don’t worry about it Chii, that person won’t bother you. I mean they confessed to you via text- message! That just shows how shy they are”
“Or that person could be a complete stalker, with binoculars and everything”
Yamada laughed. Chinen worried. The bell for their first class rang. *Yamada didn’t send me that text for sure! Or did he?*
