Great Eating
When most people think of their favorite meal, they think of their mother’s home cooking. The term home cooked meal is enough to cause mouths to water. Another term for home cooked meals is country cooking. Buddy Freddys Country Buffet claims to capture the perfection of the home cooked meal in its buffet. Although there are a few dishes that do not live up to the reputation of country cooking, it does overall have a great selection of quality food.
Buddy Freddys has a good reputation. I was referred to it by several people, all of which commented on the quality of the food. Eric Tryon told me, “It’s a good place to eat. Me and Mike go there to eat every pep rally.” He later went on to tell me how he had been referred to it by one of his friends. In an America Online member poll Buddy Freddys scored a 3.5 out of 5.
One of the tings that did not quite live up to the standard of county style cooking was their biscuits and gravy. Biscuits should be light and flaky, but the ones at Buddy Freddys were a little off. They were way too heavy and more crumbly than flaky, like too much flour was added to them. They had a tough exterior which is an indication of cooking too long, but not long enough to burn them. The gravy most commonly used in biscuits and gravy is a sausage based gravy, which gives a very distinct and flavorful

topping for biscuits. Their gravy seemed to have more of a cream based flavor rather than a sausage based flavor. This dish is one of my favorites, but not at this restaurant. It lacked the flavorful appeal that is akin to biscuits and gravy.
In contrast to that, the mashed potatoes and gravy were magnificent. The mashed potatoes had a nice balance of creaminess and solidity to them. It was smooth but still contained the very appealing and appetizing lumps of real potato which separates it from its boxed/pre-flaked counterpart. The other side of this dish was the gravy. Most of the time mashed potatoes are topped with a chicken or turkey based gravy; this dish on the other hand had a very nice beef based gravy. The beef based gravy offered a spectacular taste and aroma unknown to the chicken or turkey based gravy, and also a very nice complimentary taste to the already great taste of the potatoes.
I need help. I need 1000 words; I have 428. I need it to flow; I dont know how to use transitions above the FCAT level. I wish someone would/could help.
