Ladies and Gentlemen, please step through the crack in time and space

Friday I had the afternoon off because I was working last Saturday and I got to gallivant around central London and visit the National Portrait Gallery (I do enjoy the gallery, but it has limited appeal and I think it's interpretation doesn't work so well). I then ambled to Prince Charles Cinema (where my membership has run out. Tempted to get a lifetime membership cos its only £50 for the Rest of My Life, hmm) and saw Beginners, which is a lovely, lovely film. Seriously its super adorable - Ewan McGregor plays a guy getting over the death of his dad and falling in love. Also, the dog is a fantastic actor. Honestly!

Saturday - Thames Festival with Tom was fun, although I ended up meeting him later because I was desperate for a decent lie in. Had lovely day - Thames Festival is the end of summer festival along the southbank and was chocka packed with tourists - I proved my Londoner genes by doing my best Londoner through the crowds walk - dipping and swerving through gaps. It's a special skill. We saw strong women (she called herself a lady and all the men she picked up and twirled around kissed her hand afterwards. I think she was Tom's perfect woman!). Had a lovely chicken fajita lunch, enjoyed late night storytelling under the bandstand at Gabriel's Wharf, and did some swing dancing. It was a lovely day, even when we got damp.

Sunday - Tom stayed over and we cuddled. I'm on a horrid period and my back's killing so I got a back rub before I gallivanted off to Olympia to the Doctor Who Experience. I got my friend Alasdair a job and to say thanks he took me to see the Doctor Who Experience. Finanically it'snot doing very well because its expensive (£20 at full price means that its competing with theme parks) although the idea is great - an experience of a Doctor Who adventure. I had lots of fun - me and Alasdair were literally bouncy with excitement, especially when the guide said to us "Please step through the crack in time and space)". We got 'fly' the TARDIS and had flying Weeping Angels and the mutlicolour Daleks. The sets were gorgeous and lots of details in making them, and Matt Smith had done a bit of acting to guide us through it, and was very funny.

At the other end was a Doctor Who exhibiton of sorts with all the uniforms of the first ten Doctors, the 9th/10th Doctor's TARDIS console (which had Tennant's last moments playing over and over again on a loop, which was strangely traumatic). There was also the 5th Doctor's console, which is in private collection (so jealous, although I can't imagine where one person could store such a thing), things from the recent series (including the makeshift console from the Doctor's Wife). There was also a video where the choreography lady had tips on walking like a cyberman, meaning we got to walkwalk fashionbaby like cybermen.
And I came home, and bought more beans for work lunches next week. Seeing the bank tomorrow, but with team meetings and college I might call and see if I can push it back a couple of hours just to have some breathing room. I will say that from my nightmarish experience with the bank true friends popped up, and I know I wasn't in the situation I was in at college, where I went into a downward spiral with not even a hope of a comforting cup of tea. Well, that's me.

Ooh - does anyone know how to save texts on an iphone 3G? Seriously, it will save me a lot of money and I'll love you forever for FINALLY - I've caved in to pressure and got a tumblr - tbirdflieshigh.tumblr.com. Add me, give me tumblr nerd tips, recommend tumblrs if you know any nice ones etc.
