It's been quite a significant amount of time since I've written in this livejournal. I do frequent the site... it's actually STILL set to my homepage, but I've moved into a realm of professional work where I no longer feel as if my personal life should be as public as it was back in college.
Looking back, there is been a lot of self discovery, denial, loss, acceptance and angst written these past six years in this blog, and I am glad to have had the chance to express myself through an open source. I am thankful for everyone who has ever offered advice and love through this electronic vehicle, and I'm glad to have been part of your lives as well. I would have never been able to keep up with everyones stories now that I live so far away from most of you.
I do, however, have to protect my newfound professional life as an actor, and I don't want to take risks of saying anything that may alter or coerce future contacts. I will, however, still post news about my work, and where I am headed in the near future. I feel as if that is public information that can be found by a quick google search anyway, and at least I can get an announcement out more efficiently. :)
Since graduating from acting school, I've successfully landed 6 roles. I feel very blessed and fortunate to be in a field where I know I am an asset, and I know that I'm following the right path of my life.
I've previously held 2 character roles with Vital Theatre (where I play a befuddled nerdy kid in THE BULLY and an art student in MY NEW YORK), a national tour with Random House (where I play JUNIE B JONES' bus driver), and a romantic lead role with Packanack (Lun Tha in THE KING AND I).
I am now currently working on projects such as a resident actor position with Village Playback Theatre (a theatrical drama/music therapy outreach group for underserved and under-represented social groups) and as the title role of Manhattan Children's Theatre production of Peter and the Wolf. I will also be working as a cover for my previous role as Lenny in THE BULLY for Vital again this season.
More to come. I am thrilled about the possibilities.
