I'm glad that I eventually decided to go for the class gathering despite my earlier hesitations.. Meeting up with familiar faces and old friends after a hectic day at work never fails to leave this warm fuzzy feeling within me. Laughing over the same ol' memories we have and silly jokes of the past feels more gratifying than slurping a cup of ice cold teh on a hot sunny day.
The girlfriends' eyes widened and jaws dropped when they saw me in my new short crop. Hehe. Surprise surprise! I think they can't accept the fact that I sorta prefer a short bob to my previous long locks years ago. The four of us tend to be cliquey around each other and some of the mates were complaining bout how it felt more like a personal gathering between us four, than a class gathering with the rest. Oops, figured they might already be used to our antics since JC days.. Guess not? :p
One of them is flying back to Melbourne next Tues :( Pooey, too short a visit and she's returning too soon! Wish we didn't have that much of sea and land separating us! She's been asking me to visit her in aussie but I just haven't found the time & money to make a trip down under. I will visit some day I guess.. maybe after another trip to Japan first heh.
The mates decided we should have dinner at Nandos, and Nandos it was. I'm glad I didn't have to queue in the disgustingly long lines which stretched right out of the building. Are people really THAT in love with the place?! Is the food that good? I find it rather overrated actually. The peri sauces were interesting, i think. But so much hype it falls rather flat.
Firstly, long queues are an absolute turn-off, secondly, bad service is a major no-no. We had this rude server who wore a perpetual frown on her face, was curt in her replies, and simply looked disinterested in serving us. Bahhhh.
We took the outside seats, which was a good thing because the interior of the restaurant looks so cramped and clustered, I'm sure it sounds like a fish market inside. Probably not ideal for chatting and catching-up over dinner due to the loud noise levels. They were quite a stickler on the menu as well. We weren't allowed to change sides for certain courses "because it has already been stated inside." Righttttttt. I decided to forego my order because they are SO inflexible and shared the 1/2 chicken and kebab meal with my other 3 girlfriends.
Don't understand why they are so anal about changing sides but it will be better to give customers more flexibility I reckon. Mmm.
