Disgruntled puffs when placed together.
These babies deserve no LJ-cut! :x
This is what happens when jo goes out and finds a bakery selling pretty treats. She gets awestruck and falls in love with them all. She has to must bring them home even if her bank balance is weeping and bleeding badly. She rushes home like a silly fool just to get these babies refrigerated so that she can slowly savour them all later. It helps that they are only priced at $1.60 per piece, a very GIGANTIC piece at that even. I went home smirking like an idiot. Can't.wait.to.eat.them.later. HAHAHA.
Was at Tampines One (OMG FREAKING FAR) with the younger sister to collect some stuff she bought online. The buyer made the wrong order so now the sis has to wait another 2 more weeks for her stuff (WTF MUCH). We almost concluded it a very wasted + far + ex trip until we were walking in the basement of that new shineh mall with all the food outlets (nothing extraordinarily fab actually) and found the Japanese Yamazaki bakery with all their shining treats staring out from the glass cooler.
The babies need cold cooling airrrrr
Fell in love, price justified, sister and i bought two each! HAHAHA -00- we're such piggies alright. We walked a little in Tampines One, got bored of that place, didn't step into any shops at all, but bought quite a bit of food home instead ;D I loveee that they had that yamakawa supermart with all the fancy Jap snacks! I finally found the elusive & muchly lusted after Nat-Chan that ayu was raving all about! :] Got the lemon-kiss flavour which tasted muchly like Calpis. Love the quirky design of the bottle, makes me smile like this too ^___^ It was 3.50 per bottle, additional 0.20 for a cold one (WHUT?) uh yeah, maybe we're paying off their electrical bills too. Hurhur.
♡♡♡ Nat-chan ♡♡♡
They had Sol-Mart at the basement too. that's like uber paradise. Japanese + Korean supermarts to satisfy all your cravings + needs. And even a cold storage too! That's 3 blardy supermarkets in one floor, WTF MUCH? LOL. When you're broke like i am, i strongly recommend you to avoid visiting it at all costs. It makes you weep for not being able to buy home more treats :(
So anyway, we figured T-One is overhyped and blah like what everyone says. Wouldn't have visited that far place if not for accompanying the younger sister. Yamazaki bakery + Yamakawa were pleasant surprises (;
Oh yeah, the main highlight of this entry = the creme puffs. But look at how much i've managed to digress.. Last night i had the normal creme puffs (with strawberries WHOOP!). Being rather huge as compared to normal puff sizes, i didn't really quite know how to eat it. Haha. I decided to uh remove the top part of the choux pastry and spread cream over it, and eat it like i'm eating a bagel ok. OMG, sooooo goooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooood. It wasn't overwhelming, the creme was light & just nice! Not too sweet, not too thick. Fluffy & awesome.
Normal creme puff with strawberries
I really love the choux pastry! I fell in love more after i had my matcha-puff! The matcha creme was bittersweet, i think the colour scares people off. But oh man, wait till you've tried it together with the pastry. It blends perfectly! You can't really taste the bittersweetness of the cream, i think the pastry balances up with more sweetness for that matter ;))
Matcha-creme puffs! :)
The normal creme puffs with strawberries were snapped up a lot faster! There was only one left after we bought ours. There was quite a big of matcha ones left though. I'm guessing matcha isn't that popular a flavour with Singaporeans :p though i wish they'd give it a shot too. It'd be a very pleasant surprise :] I'm glad there are other Yamazaki outlets that i can get my fix from without having to travel all the way to ulu panda tampines again =_= It's a newfound bakery love apart from Sun Moulin ♡♡♡
Having so many awesome sweet yummy treats yesterday made it feel like an extended TGIF-celebration treat :)
Just received a call from my in-charge who is back from her overseas trip. She was really grateful to have me cover her duties for the past 2 weeks.. I'm glad :) I hope she knows that i am just as grateful to her for this opportunity she gave me to earn my allowance and top up my wilting bank. She tells me to keep in touch & to visit again, you can bet on that ;) It was so-short a stint there, but they are making me feel so loved & belonged already ♡
