and the confusion continues

again with kamikaze.
finished volume 4. I thought I understood something. then they added some details that mucked everything up again.
but I wanted to rand on something else (I like to complain):
see, they have these torii (spiritual doors) that have been used to seal away monsters. the leader of each tribe (earth, water, wind, fire, and air) has to protect their torii. so there are 5 in all. if the blood of a tribe leader touches it's corresponding torii, it breaks the seal and the monsters trapped in it are set free.
so the Earth Tribe Leader, Ishigami was beaten to a pulp (not his fault, he wasn't strong enough at that point) and his blood touched his torii. he didn't die. he's still kicking but all sexy like. he just kinda got thrown against the torii and spat some blood on it.
but then, in volume 4, they're up to the Wind Torii (they couldn't unseal the Water Torii). so Fire Tribe Leader, Higa, is there with Wind Tribe Leader, Kaede. and Kaede goes 'Don't dissapoint me, Higa, my blood must splatter on the Water Torii'... and then Higa goes and rips through her and her blood pisses everywhere. and she looks like she's dead.
maybe she's not dead. because I think she's in volume 5. but what is the point of splattering blood everywhere when she could've clearly just let a drop of blood fall on the torii for the seal to be broken?
I guess it's cool to splatter the blood of a young lady.
wonder what they'll do when sexy Higa has to give his blood?
is he gonna be smart and just, like, cut his hand and touch the torii?
I think not.
