So I have a serious problem with continuing to buy books that I want to read... so many, that I've now got dozens of books I want to read, but just don't have time to. One of my resolutions this year is to get serious about my writing, and to be a good writer, I feel I also need to be a good reader. So below is my list of what I currently own and have not yet read, and my new commitment is to read most, if not all of these, over the upcoming year:
FICTION
1. The Perfect Fit by Louise Kean
2. Mary Mary by James Patterson
3. Bitter Is the New Black by Jen Lancaster
4. I Heard That Song Before by Mary Higgins Clark
5. Sliver of Truth by Lisa Unger
6. Everyone Worth Knowing by Lauren Weisberger
7. The Bone Garden by Tess Gerritsen
8. Origin in Death by Nora Roberts/J.D.Robb
9. Case Histories by Kate Atkinson
10. The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold
11. "B" Is For Burglar by Sue Grafton
12. At First Sight by Nicholas Sparks
NONFICTION
1. Dreams From My Father by Barack Obama
2. I Am America (And So Can You!) by Stephen Colbert
3. You: On A Diet by Dr. Oz & Dr. Roizen
4. Born Losers by Scott Sandage
5. The Money Book for the Young, Fabulous, & Broke by Suze Orman
6. Dispatches From the Edge by Anderson Cooper
7. Dress Your Family in Corduroy & Denim by David Sedaris
A few of my favorite writers are also coming out with new works this spring, so I've also got to add to the list for future purchases:
1. Remember Me? by Sophie Kinsella
2. Certain Girls by Jennifer Weiner
Whew. That's a lot of books. Off to curl up with the first one, The Perfect Fit! (what can i say, i like chick lit with an overweight/formerly overweight heroin (female, not the drug)).
