Quickie

I learned a few things for the next time I move during my week of moving in Cuse:

1. It is wise to wipe down ones fridge more frequently than say once every 2 years

2. Similarly it is a good idea to scrub ones oven more frequently than say once every 2 years (in my defense, I didn't even know you had to scrub ovens I thought they were all self-clean....although one should probably clean those regularly too)

3. Having a lot of decorative crap is cute, but not necessary and just makes for multiple trips to either the trash can or to the UPS Store to buy more boxes

4. Whether or not to have movers is no longer a question....they are wonderful and amazing. If only they cleaned the apartment after....

5. Moving alone is not fun - find friends to help....bribe them with pizza. Do not be alone, sweating scrubbing your apartment....it sucks.

That's all I can think of now except that it's official: I no longer have a home in Syracuse. I'm sure you all felt the earth shift. That's probably why it's been raining since I got back to DC. At least I don't have to water the plants per Step Mommy Dearest's specific instructions. However, I do have to buy a wet vac for the basement.

Most importantly: Steve got back from Kansas earlier than he thought - he's on his way here now (insert happy dance here)
