I read somewhere once that no matter how silly or outlandish they may be you should set goals for yourself (or something like that). After some internal debate I have decided to declare a major, seriously. I've always been told that I would make a great teacher. But at the same time I haven't been really sure of myself if that's something that really interests me. Which is why I've just been kinda skimming along at the college with no real expectations for the past year. I saw a counselor this morning to talk about a few things. I just let her know that I'd like to be a teacher for K-6 and she said Liberal Studies. So, Liberal Studies it is and I'd have to transfer to a university to earn a B.A. If I end up at Cal Poly then I'd have to do a lot of math and science before transfering since Cal Poly is a very math and science based university, or whatever. So I think i might look into other schools as well. Either way I actually have a goal set. Even though it may seem impossible or silly to me right now. The other thing that the counselor and i talked about is Academic Renewal. Say you went to college and did terrible and flunked all your classes. If you go back over a year later and complete 18 units with a 2.0 GPA or better you can have those failed course grades wiped so as they don't count towards your GPA anymore. At the moment I'm 1 unit shy of being able to do this but if I pass all my current classes and take a summer class then I'll be able to wipe the previous F's. That would make my current GPA jump from 2.5 or so to a 3.6 something. Amazing. I'm so on it!
I've had a great and mostly productive day!
