Question #1 part 2- What is paganism?
*le sigh* I may need to do a poll.
I have taken on the suggestion of frater_treinta to make lists; I am breaking down paganism by the various paths, trads, systems- the origins, the practices, etc. This is helpful-- time consuming and annoying-- but helpful. ;-)
Good gods, this may become a magnum opus, not just a rational book written from the point of view of the non-fluffy, non-generic pagan perspective.
But I also think that maybe I should post a poll on paganism as I genuinely interested in seeing:
a) how widespread the hippy-dippy “paganism is one united happy hand-holding jebus ins dress worshipping religion” myth is and
b) what real pagans think.

So do you fine folks have any input on questions I should ask? Places where I should post the poll? (I am thinking of having three outlets- one that is posted in sort of a “non-pagan” place - maybe to see what Christians & such think of us nowadays, instead of buying into all the alarmist neato-pagan claims that “all teh ebil xians HATE us!1!!; one that is for the fluffy pagan sorts (or for those who generally identify as pagan but who haven’t yet realized there is more to paganism than buying Llewellyn books and watching Charmed), and one for the better educated pagans of all paths, BTWiccans, Recons, Traditional Witches, etc.
How big of a cross section do I want?
Can anyone think of any questions that must be asked? (I will post a list of what I have thus far, perhaps in a separate post)
The way I think I should go is to formulate a questionnaire, then post to various places (as I outlined above) for people to answer said questionnaire. I think there may actually be more than one poll/questionnaire as time goes on; the first will just be general stuff, mainly to help me see what others see as a possible definition to paganism.
