Astronomy

I am already slightly annoyed with one girl in my Astronomy class. She doesn't have a book on the table in front of her or a notebook or any sort of writing utensil. She sits there with her laptop open. Before, I was assuming she was taking notes. I'm not so sure now. She interjected into class several times about websites. "I found this image on google stars" or "There's a website that says/shows this". I wanted to tell her to shut it. The instructor shot down her ideas each time she offered. It was rather amusing.

The instructor isn't my most favorite. He's got a biting sense of humor. He's bitter that he hasn't been able to get it passed the legal department that we go across the street to his High School to the observatory for part of class. I'm really not sure how that would fit into class. We only left 20 minutes early last Thursday.

He's also said that astrologists, Catholics and (aww crap I don't remember the third) will be offended by him. Oh goody. He's also told us that he voted for Obama because he wanted funding for the Observatory in Chicago. He said McCain called it an expensive overhead projector. Hehe.

I understand that everyone has their own reasons for voting for whomever, but COME ON! There are more important issues to research.

This class has turned out to be an experiment in patience. I am learning a lot, though. For instance, there are actually 13 signs of the Zodiac. I guess 3 of them are too clustered together to use and would make them spread unevenly. And also, if you actually look at a star chart, you probably think of your 'sign' incorrectly. I am still a Taurus, but I don't think my hubby actually falls into his category.

Velly Intellesting.
