i was scrounging around for a nice pen today when i stopped and thought, 'hey, didn't uncle peter give me a really nice parker pen? it writes like a dream last i remember!'
so i set out to find that pen. i literally ransacked all the pencilboxes i could find, searched through my library (sometimes i stick pens in notebooks after writing and forget to take them out) and looked through my collection of schoolbags.
as i had found my calligraphy pen under my bed earlier, i looked there once again hoping it'd surrender my parker too, but it wasn't there.
after nearly two hours of searching; i finally remembered.
it's gone. i don't have it anymore. i was looking for something that wasn't even there. i felt rather stupid; and then a little sad.
i liked that pen a lot.
stacy had given me an emily the strange pencilbox for my birthday last year, and it was really very nice. it was...hmm, it was red and black, striking and clean looking.
i thought that such a nice pencilbox deserved to have only the favourite of my pens in its belly, and so i went home, gathered and picked my favourite pens, be they ink or calligraphy or fountain or ballpoint. i loaded them all into there, was satisfied and used it at school.
and then one day it was gone. just like that. i had left it on a rack outside the prefect room for a mere ten minutes, i swear. popped in, dropped the report on the table and popped out. and it was missing.
i can't recall if i kicked up a big ballyhoo during that time; but trust me, if you guys are notebook/pen/stationary/writing nerds like me, losing a whole pencilbox of your best and favourite pens absolutely suck.
i rarely lose really 'valuable' things (to me, at least), but when i do i have NO LUCK AT ALL FINDING THEM. it's as if the gods were distributing character attributes and it goes like this when it's time to send me yelling out into the world;
(i believe in one god, but for this purpose, there's a multitude of them.)
god 1 : hmmm, okay, she'll be creative. *tosses sprinkly creative powder*
god 2 : i'll give her mediocre focus and concentration. *blesses*
god 3 : she'll lose lots of things, so to counter that i'll bless her with
my 'can-find-back-lost-items' lucky powd-where's that powder?
god 1 : not again. i told you to restock.
god 2 : ahh well. poor child.
god 3 : uh, geez, i'm sorry!
and next thing you know, i'm sent packing off with the bloody storks! without a grain of finding-lost-items luck! *grumbles*
hmmm. come to think about it, not lost items, stolen items. but what the heck; it's still 'lost' in a way.
i've had my first harry potter book stolen (till today i haven't bought a replacement), a leather garfield wallet stolen, my pencilbox, and a couple of things besides. not much, but they always have to be things i'm fond of.
*shakes fist at third god* you'd better by some divine intervention send me a whole caseload of beautiful parker pens.
hehe, goodnight/morning lovelies.
