So! It's 2014 and here I am logging into THIS site again! Feels weird!
I'm playing Diederich again, but this time he's a D&D character! So if by some chance you're one of my old WoW friends who still reads livejournal and you're seeing this post, no, I'm not back on WoW.
This post is for the D&D campaign I joined. I'm cheap and resurrected my old WoW character for it. Thankfully the GM didn't mind. I wanted to type up a description of what Die looks like these days, since he's no longer a Death Knight. This way my traveling companions can have an idea of what they're looking at when Die talks. Or points.
Die is a Revenant. Happily, Revenants look very similar to what Die looked like as a DK. I did a ridiculous anime-style drawing of Die as a DK that illustrates what I mean, grey skin that turns dark at the extremities and light hair. Just some minor changes.
Diederich was a High Elf when he was alive. He comes from noble blood among elves, particularly on his mother's side. His father's side was a more militaristic clan.
These days, he is likely mistaken for a Drow elf. He has pale grey skin and white hair, with black eyes and small, glowing red irises. He's also a bit shorter than most High Elves (which irritated him his whole life), which is a trait also shared by the Drow.
For anyone familiar with Revenants specifically, the giveaways are the black in his eyes, and his hands. His hands look afflicted with severe frostbite, blackened and shriveled and leathery with prominent bones and tendons. His nails are black and thick and come to a sharp point like talons, and the tops of his hands, upon close inspection, have a dusting of black scales like bird skin.
He wears a necklace of a silver raven's claw clutching a crystal orb. He keeps his hair like that absurd anime drawing linked above, a messy half ponytail. Despite the messy hair, he's elvish-nobility finicky about his grooming, and WILL drop gold at every stop in any town for a trip to a bath house for a full, deep grooming.
