Sadiq revisited

Nov 25, 2005 17:14

Sadiq, the 'cleaner' boy. Something that I wrote a while back, in an attempt to narrate yet another important event that changed me ever so subtly.

I saw Sadiq today morning after, what seems to me like, a really long time. I was slightly away and couldn't get down from my 'cab' and go talk to him.

Was that long ago? March 10th, 2004. Some experiences really defy the perception of how long ago it happened, don't they? ...and how I miss travelling by the public transport. Maybe tomorrow, I will. Just for the thrill.

Reminds me of a very interesting conversation I had with shenbug a while ago. We were talking about how every person is what they are because of their experiences, their memories. Much on the lines of Chaos theory: That the mind is governed by an 'equation' that can tell you what would happen next in the mind. Every input (sensory inputs) one takes alters the 'equation' of one's mind subtly. A Person is made. Not born. So given the initial conditions of a person's birth (genetic info, etc.,.) and given all the 'inputs' that occured, it should be possible to 'read' one's mind or atleast come up with probabilistic predictions of how the mind would work next.

... and then I was gifted Asimov's 'Foundation' recently and came to know about psychohistory. I love that Asimov guy. Don't I?

update: I came across this link through a mailing list: Mixing Buddhism and neuroscience to understand human consciousness. Thanks, sriniram!
