I was jokingly telling Ankit and my team mates a while ago how cool it would be to have a system that generates a HUGE single image out of several map images (preferably a satellite images like that from google Maps) and print that image and stick it outside the office cubes (rather, the sunnyvale campus folks would find it useful).
So in a typical discussion, one could say "Hey, so I stay here and I go to ... (run fingers down to three cubes down) this place everyday".
but it seems, GMerge just did it and was asked by google to take their service down because they violated the "Terms of Service". That of course is because GMerge was doing a 'public service' thing and not a 'personal use' thing. So maybe I can still go ahead and make this tool someday and use it for my 'personal use' :)

(Dr.Srinivasan, the man (I should find a better word -- maybe "God"?) who taught us Chemistry during the IIT-JEE coaching class days is the source of inspiration of this Map Wallpaper in an Odd Way. While talking about 'Valence bands', he would literally run from one end of the classroom to the other to explain how far away some bands appeared while some others appeared very close together. But for him, I wouldn't have understood the real meaning of 'Passion'. Every day's 2 hour class will almost always end up reaching 3 hours because at the end of the class he would ask "i just have to explain about xyz now otherwise you will lose continuity of the topic in the next class. Can I go ahead, please?". :) )
