May Thyagaraja's soul forgive me... I managed to learn a bit of 'Banthureethi Kovulu' on my own and even Record it! (609KB, 39 seconds - no post-processing of sound other than cropping away the end and beginning silence)

indeed... :D I'm not letting my guru go without teaching me a Varnam. the next time I go to the classes... I'm going to play this banthureethi (after learning to play the entire song well) and play it while he freshens up. I will prove my point :> I'm putting in a lot of hours these days into Guitaring (~20 hours in the weekends and ~2 hours a day during weekdays).

thats a lot of hours. haha. you must be glad you got through alankarams. I DETESTED alankarams. they were soo bad. oh my god. she wanted us to do all three speeds, so i got very confused with talam. lucky you, you dont have to keep up with talam.
