I just got up at 10 this morning! I am so proud of myself! I've only slept in this late maybe one other time since Madelynn was born. The bad side is that from about 6-8 I barely slept at all and from 1-6 I woke up at least 3 times. Stress will be the death of me.
Speaking of Madelynn, my parents have taken her for the weekend. They picked her up yesterday around 4 and will bring her back Monday about the same time I believe. That's TWO nights she's with them. They were so excited -- the kid and adults! LOL My parents took her shopping at Home Depot, out to dinner, and then grocery shopping so she could pick out all her favorite foods that she wanted for the weekend. Today they are going to Blue Bird Gap Farm in the morning and Deer Park playground this afternoon. Monday is iffy. If she's tired, they'll stay home. If she wants to go out, they'll pick someplace fun. I think she'll come home exhausted, which is great, b/c Tuesday starts her school routine and I want her in bed by 7:30 at the latest. I think this school year her bedtime will be between 7 and 7:30 most days.
I'm using this time to purge her bedroom, put all her clothes away, and generally prepare for the school year. 1) She's got WAY TOO MANY clothes for a kid her age. 2) She's got way too many stuffed animals. 3) She's a spoiled lil' thing. LOL Seriously though no one should have to buy anything for her except maybe shoes b/c her feet seem to be growing.... Weird.
In addition to purging her room, I have work to do (for work), a coffee table to clean off, and sundry baked good items to bake. I love baking. I'm not much of a cook, but baking is so much fun! I'm going to make cuban bread I think, which is just awesome b/c I'll get to play with dough. Plus, Pete will LOVE it! He's a carbs guy -- loves bread and pasta in every form. I'd also like to make blueberry muffins, and pumpkin pie muffins if I can.
Right now, I need to get dressed b/c if I sit around too long after sleeping in I'll get one of those nasty headaches and will be useless for the rest of the day... which could prompt me to watch a multitude of movies, which would be fun, but I have other things to do!
Finale: I took the nerd test on Sarah's page. I didn't think I would score all that great, but taking pre-cal back in the day, owning some comics, and having a whole series of books on a historical figure seems to do the trick. Plus, I love sci-fi shows.... It's sad, I know, but I love being a nerd. I like nerdy things and it took me until my mid-20s to embrace that I liked these things.... Learn from my mistakes young ones. LOL (P.S. for some reason my code's not working and I can't figure out why.... Ahh, must be that 20% that isn't nerd. LOL)
