We got home late late late Friday night. I've got HP7 and just need to start reading. I still have most of the unpacking to do as well. I'll probably do that when I take a break from cooking dinner. So much has happened.

We found out Wed. a.m. that Pete's mom had passed away quite suddenly. I went to work with Mads, left around 1 p.m. and came home to start getting things together. Thursday was spent doing laundry, running to the store for last minute travel-sized items, and packing. Most airlines don't do "bereavement" tickets anymore, but I don't think we did horribly. Because it was so last minute our online prices were only $10 less than getting them over the phone. We went with over the phone b/c the departure times were better. Flew out Friday morning; Pete's brother, Rick, and nephew-in-law Cecil, picked us up at the airport. We stayed with Cecil, Heather and their kids and they gave us their minivan to borrow. The viewing was Sunday; it was a long day. Pete, for reasons I will not disclose as it's "family matters," was triggered into a seizure and b/c he couldn't pull himself out of it, we had to call the paramedics who did sternum rubs to bring him out. We went to the hospital, they checked him over, we went home. (Madelynn, thank God, did not witness anything; the kids were at the ice cream shop across the street at the time.) Monday was the funeral. It was a hard day to say the least. We spent the rest of the week sharing stories and laughing and getting to know each other. I met everyone essentially.

- Rick, one of two of the brothers; his wife Stephanie; and their kids (in addition to Heather), Brandy, Hannah, and Conner.
- Heather and Cecil have 3 children, too: Ben, 9; Lilly, 5; and Aaliyah the giggle box, 2. (Chilly Lilly and I took quite a liking to each other. And Aaliyah is impossible not to crack up over; she just giggles through everything! All the kids are GORGEOUS.)
- Ron, the other brother, and his wife Daneen (sp?).
- Carol, the sister, and her husband Stan, and two of their kids whose names I do not recall.

Most of our time was spent with Heather, Cecil and kids since we stayed there; then Rick and Stephanie and their other 3 kids. Can I say that I LOVE his family? And I love the town Heather and Rick live in. It's the town Pete pretty much grew up in: Lebanon, IN. It's so small! But Indianapolis is only about 30 minutes away. The Kroger is not at all ghetto like ours. Their Wal-Mart is dinky!!! There's corn fields pretty much everywhere you go. The neighborhood where Pete grew up doesn't have a lot of kids in it anymore as most residents are older folks. The subdivision where Heather lives though is crawling with kids.

I'll write more about our visit later and I've got pictures of all the cousins, too, and even some 3rd cousins that we met! Right now, I've got HP7 to read, unpacking to do, and a dinner to cook in just a bit.
