It's basically going to be very hard to top this past weekend. There are a lot of exciting events coming up that might give it a run for it's money, but this past weekend was just absolutely spectacular. And by weekend, I really mean starting last Wednesday...
Wednesday I was all snuggled up in my bed watching the Wings game when the phone rang. It was Nicole. "OH MY GOD, I DON'T GET THE WINGS GAME ON TV. STUPID WOW. THIS IS HORRIBLE. WHAT ARE YOU DOING? WE NEED TO GO SOMEWHERE TO WATCH IT! ARE YOU WATCHING IT? ARE YOU OUT ALREADY? AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" It wasn't actually quite like that, but something kind of similar and I like to spice things up a little. We went to Buffalo Wild Wings at 12 and Mound where we had the coolest waiter ever! I hate when you go somewhere and you either get someone who is very crabby, or they are just slow and not good at what they do. Anyway, it was a very intense game, going down to Lang scoring with 30 seconds left to send it into overtime, where we got the OT victory! Fun night!
Thursday I ventured up to MSU to celebrate Bill graduating, which is a little miracle in life! :) We were going to go to Burgerama, but the line was super long so we went to Lou Ha's instead. We hung out there for a couple hours. That was a good time. Plus, it's a smoke free establishment, which I think is absolutely wonderful. If everywhere was like that I would be a much happier person. I could probably also breathe a lot better on a more regular basis. Went back to the Virginia house to carry on the festivities. The weather was nice, so it was cool to be able to stay outside and great fun to see all my friends again. Like Kourtney said, going to State is like going home.
Friday morning I woke up at 9am to the phone ringing and it's a call from Virginia. I'm thinking, who the heck would be calling me from Virginia at 9am. Clearly someone who wants to die. But it was okay because it was Mike calling me from Afghanistan!!! Kourtney and I got to talk to him for about 45 minutes, so that was super exciting since I hadn't heard from him in a long while. He was in a very good mood and full of good news. What an excellent wake up call. I went to lunch with Michael and Bill after getting ready and such. Then guess who calls Bill...BART!!! Two calls from Afghanistan in one day! So I got to talk to him, which was also super exciting!! I can't wait for those boys to go home. I sure hope I have enough money to go to New York and partake in the welcome home festivities.
After that I moved some of Tom's stuff to his new house, which is very nice. It even has pretty wood floors. Then we rallied the rest of the troops and went to Peanut Barrel for dinner, followed by the Riv. Eventually we headed back to Bill's since Billy, Melissa, Kyle, and Charlie were coming up. I haven't seen them in awhile either. We celebrated Bill graduating some more. Another fun night with my buddies!!
Saturday I had to leave MSU early to come home and get ready for the Red Wings game!!! My parents got me tickets for completeing my internship. Our seats were way at the top, but they were center ice and it was an amazing game, so I was thrilled!!! Dad even waved his towel in the air like I asked him to (since we lost when I took Nick to a game a couple years ago since he wouldn't use his pom poms), which obviously has a direct effect on the outcome of the game, so we won. I came home, took a nap, then met Nicole at the Club to watch the Pistons and the Tigers, who also won. What a good day for Detroit sports.
I was supposed to go to a bonfire Saturday night, but nobody answered when I called my people. That was just as well for me because I was incredibly tired and in need of some serious sleepage.
Sunday was Kaylyn's Communion party, which was complete with excellent food and karaoke. Surprisingly my back doesn't hurt from doing the limbo. It sure did hurt immediately after doing it. Afterward, Nicole and I stopped up at The Hoo to talk to Steph about our upcoming mini road trip. Scott and his friend (or the guy he paid to be his friend) met us up for a drink. I also ran into a kid from high school, as I usually do when I go up there. Then I came home and went to bed because I was tired again.
So yeah, lots of super exciting events this past weekend. This upcoming weekend I'm almost positive we are going to Chicago to visit/pick up Kourtney, then up to Mad Town to visit Josh. It should be excellent fun as well. Yay!
