Mad About You

I made a boy name list today from my new book. It's almost the same list I would have anyway, but I've come across Aristide twice in 1 day, so that stuck out to me and went on the list, just out of sheer serendipity. And after reading the little bit about Orlando in the book, I've fallen even harder for it. In elementary school, I didn't like Orlando at all because all I could think of was "Disney World", and then in middle school, Lord of the Rings came out (or maybe that was high school?) and I really, really didn't like Orlando Bloom at all, so that just put me off more. And in high school I got in to Shakespeare, and Orlando Bloom did movies other than LOTR, and I started to see Orlando as a name in its own right.
Plus, Edmund and Orlando are drop-dead gorgeous as brother names in my mind. Kind of makes me want twin boys at one point, and I will dress them in argyle, sweater-vests or tartan, and they'll go to private school in Madrid where they won't get picked on for being so stylish (no matter what my mom says :oP. Seriously, we were shopping for baby stuff for my cousin and I found this super sweet argyle sweater and I said something about buying it and hanging on to it for 10 years until I have kids, because my son is going to wear argyle, and tartan and sweater-vests, and my mom goes "Edmund's going to get made fun of if you dress him like that all the time" but PSHT... no) because they'll have uniforms for school.
Seriously.
Edmund and Orlando
*swoon*
OH SNAP, I keep forgetting that Edmund sounds awful in Spanish. It sounds better if it's spelled Edmond, but I can't bring myself to let go of the U. Oh, what problems! Seriously though, this is a very real issue for me.
At least Orlando works. I'd even settle for Orlando Edmund and just deal with people pronouncing Edmund as [edmund] and not [ɛdmənd], and since it's i- DAMMIT SPAIN DOES NOT HAVE MIDDLE NAMES! My life is over. Goodbye cruel world.
(I'm kidding, obviously. I made the mistake of making non-decaf tea like, an hour ago, putting more sugar in it than I wanted, and then listening to Pierce Brosnan sing "S.O.S.". I'm kind of loopy)

i'm a thinker, anthro, names
