I have some students who don't know how to sit still. One student in particular has been removed from the entire group because he will play with other's pants, hair, hands, etc... I have him on a chair off to the side of the main group. I have yet to see him sit on the chair. I have seen him climbing the chair, the chair sitting on him, him ducking and covering behind the chair, him trying to touch the roof with the chair. Sometimes its distracting, but most of the time I can't help but laugh at the silliness or be concerned by how much he should be medicated. He does average work in the class, but has talent in voice immitation.
I have another student who ran into my hand. I was holding out my hands to get everyone to make a circle. 5th grade struggles with making circles still... She stood up to move, then dove to the floor to crawl to the circle while everyone else was walking there. She pops up and into the circle on my right side, and hits my hand on the way up to standing. This would have been funnier if I had not just gotten my nails done, and took a gouge of skin off her face right by her eye. She looks at me in suprise, and I look back as blood is already appearing. She had battle scars for 2 weeks.
