A run down of airport security

So with Saturday being the first time that I will have ever been on a plane, I thought that I should find out what I can and can not bring on board. Here are some of the more interesting finds:

Under "Makeup, Medication, Personal Items & Special Needs Devices"

if you are hiding some kind of clear acid in a water bottle and trying to pass if off as water, they may make you drink it.

...and how is someone supposed to fly WITHOUT throwing stars?

Does anyone else find it a bit alarming that knitting needles are allowed? You could do some serious D-A-M-A-G-E with one of those.

i just thought about this again and had to make another comment. what if someone was flying with a GIANT BAG FILLED WITH KNITTING NEEDLES? is there a certain kind of PERSON who can have knitting needles? like, is it just limited to non-threatening looking individuals like grandmas or can a 33 year old shifty-eyed iraqi guy have them as well? how do they decide this? what if you had "DEATH DEALER" written in Sharpie on your knitting needles? there are so many things to be considered in this situation. i might need to take a trip on an aeroplane to test this out. though i would really rather not get arrested for anything knitting-related. that wouldn't make for a very good answer to the much asked question on the inside..."whatcha in for?"
