Yay! I finally found time to blog:)
It's been more than a week since we came back from the Honeymoon,
but I can't stop thinking about it!
It was a loooong, tiring but FUN trip.
Tiring because we visited 7 places:
Hiroshima-Himeji-Miyajima-Kobe-Arima Onsen-Kyoto-Nara-Osaka
We stayed at 7 different accomodations as well!
Despite the frustration of lugging our luggages around,
it was a well-rounded experience of Japan hotels.
From the homeliest to the shadiest; from the cheapest to the most luxurious, we stayed them all.
Our first stop:Hiroshima
-The Sakatas
It was my third time in Hiroshima.
We arrived at Hiroshima after 3 hours of Shinkansen (bullet train=super fast!)
ride from Kansai airport.
This was our cosy room:)
Every morning, we woke up to
YUMMY breakfast (which I will post under the photo section later)
and ended the night with SUPER YUMMY Gutbusting dinner.
The Kitchen
Living Area
Walkway
And my FAVOURITE.
Okaasan's newly renovated HOT TUB!!!
with...
A control to set and regulate the temperature of your water.
You can heat it up before the bath!
Imagine being so cold with goosebumps and then stepping into the
steaming hot tub. It is really "Ahh, this is the life."
The water was so hot it could be a convenient substitute to a hot spring.
And my Heated Warm toilet bowl seat:)
After a really really heartwarming 3 days stay, we took the Shinkansen again
to Kobe in about an 1 hour+.
We had a SUPER HARD Time looking for this place!
But it was actually located in a very good spot.
Toyoko inn, Sannomiya.Compared to other budget hotels, its lobby was spacious
and well lit.
Although it was a little cramped, the room was very clean!
The next day, with our growing luggages, we excitedly made our way
to the Hotspring resort up on the mountain!
Taketoritei Maruyama at Arima Onsen resort.
Outside the room.
Japanese style room!Notice how big it is! You can see an extra room
at the back of the photo.
The modern toilet attached to the room formed a nice contrast
with its traditional design.
We had 2 meals (dinner and breakfast) served in a private Japanese room
1 min walk from our room.
Very authentic food. Some of the stuff was quite difficult to stomach.
For example, Codfish Milt. Google it. Sean bluffed me that it was "fish cream"
and I ate it. He told me the truth 1 week later and I made him "pay for it."hahaha.
Our private Hotspring.
Silver Spring.
Golden Spring.
It was an open air, outdoor private hotspring up in the cold mountains.
The place was decorated with bamboos.
Imagine our dilemma:it was SUUUPPERR COLLLDDDD and yet we found it hard to
enter the hot spring fully cos it was SUUPPERR scaldingly HOT!
But once you're in, it is a wonderful feeling.
Your body's hot and the skin on your face, cool.
The following morning, we went to the Northern central of Osaka at Umeda.
This was the CHEAPEST budget hotel we stayed at in Osaka.
6000Yen per night which translates to SGD 96 (actually, not cheap at all).
It was the shadiest we stayed at and had a shady name called Kinki.
However, I must say that although it was the shadiest we stayed at, it was
not THAT BAD at all! In fact, it was quite "stayable", relatively clean
despite the crammed spaces. The location was not bad too, near the bustling
areas in Umeda, a business district.
After a night of budget living, we had to pamper ourselves to THE BEST right?
It was Christmas eve that day as we checked into the Ritz Carlton, Osaka.
The complimentary apple juice.
walkway to the bathroom.
bigg bathrroom.
The Grand lobby & fitness centre (where we went for a swim!)
A real fireplace!
The night view from our room:
From the 32nd floor.
Needless to say,we had an awesome time!
Since it was Christmas eve, we dabao-ed ready to eat
Japanese food from the supermarket and had our own
romantic dinner by the pretty night view:)
The next morning, we headed to beautiful Kyoto.
Our zen style (?) room at Tour Club:)
Love the golden wall paper! The Futon bed was AWESOME.
you can just disappear into the soft, thick covers.
After 3 happening days in Kyoto (I spotted a Geisha!),
we headed back to Osaka for our last 6 nights.
(This time, the Southern part)
We stayed at a Business Hotel in Namba.
Our little cosy room for the next 6 days.
:)
If you ask me which was my favourite, it is definitely Ritz(duh!)
But a minus point is that Ritz was near "Atas" shops,so you
gotta walk for quite abit before you get to the cheaper shopping areas.
I liked Tour Club at Kyoto for its comfort. However, we
had to walk for about 9 mins from the bus/train station
in the cold(face numb, ear pain):(
However, the Favourite of Favourites...
is of cos Okaasan & Otousan's house.
I miss the smell of Kerosene in their house.boohoohoo.
I shall go and think about them now:)
